NEWS


Dr. Tin-Yau Tam has been elected to the Board of Directors of the International Linear Algebra Society (ILAS), starting March 2010 on a three-year term. ILAS was founded in 1989 and aims to encourage and support existing groups and individuals in organizing meetings and publications in all aspects of linear algebra.

Receiving his bachelor of science degree and his doctorate in mathematics from the University of Hong Kong, Tam has taught here since 1988. He is also on the editorial board of the Journal of Linear and Multilinear Algebra and Proyecciones, Revista de Matematica. (from AU Daily, February 25, 2010)
